Episode four: Safe

The crew drop off their cargo of cows from the previous episode but then Simon and River get kidnapped and the Preacher is shot.

Mal has a difficult decision to make with the Preacher dying and Simon and River lost. Mal decides to goto an Alliance cruiser for help with the Preacher which is unusally given after the Preachers Ident card is checked.

Meanwhile, it turns out Simon and River were kidnapped and brought to a village lacking a doctor. River has another mental outburst though and soon enough she and Simon are actually being burned at the stack as witches. Only a last minute rescue by Mal and Serenity save them.

Simon rests happily after his rescue is explained as that they are part of the crew now and that is what is done for crew members.
